Welcome

The church is at 2740 Fuller Avenue NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan, on the corner of Fuller Avenue and 3 Mile Road, just south of Plainfield Avenue.

Of course you are. Everyone is welcome here, including those who have little or no church experience. A banner in our sanctuary says, “All Find Acceptance In This House.” Our goal is to show the same kind of hospitality that Jesus showed throughout his life. We welcome and invite you to join us and participate in all that we do, as fully as you feel comfortable.

We understand that people are at different places in their faith journey and want to proceed at their own pace and in their own way. Our congregation is made up of people with varied backgrounds. We appreciate and welcome the diversity of the life history and experience that each person brings to this life together in our faith community.

Lutherans are Christians who received their name in the 16th century from Martin Luther during the Protestant Reformation in Europe. While this church follows many of his teachings, we do not worship Martin Luther. We are a church that believes in the triune God—one God in three persons—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Lutheran Church places a strong emphasis on the Word of God and the importance of the Bible as the source and norm for our lives of faith. Those attending worship services at Faith Lutheran wear attire that ranges from fairly formal to much more casual. Some men wear sports coats, shirts with ties, and slacks. Others wear casual slacks or jeans with shirts and sweaters. Many women wear pants and tops. You can wear whatever you want. Whatever you are comfortable in. We are much more interested in you and having you here worshipping God with us. We welcome you and encourage you to come as you are. 

Bring the kids. We have a mini children’s sermon at the 10 am casual service every Sunday that is topped off with treats for the children before they return to their seats.
